Squarespace Refresh is our annual product announcement, showcasing new releases throughout a given year across the entire Squarespace platform. This year, we're introducing a new era for entrepreneurs—championing the irreplaceable value of human creativity and empowering anyone to craft a unique digital identity and streamline business management.
These are some of the launches we’re extra excited about this year, from a more powerful website design system to new ways to manage your money on Squarespace.
1. The next evolution of Squarespace Blueprint AI
With AI website builders on the rise, Squarespace set out to improve our popular website design system with new generative AI capabilities that could produce a more personalized, on-brand website. The next evolution of Squarespace Blueprint AI takes the time-saving aspects of AI and marries them with expert design sensibilities, for results that stand out more online.
To supply the strongest starter content, it automatically populates premium imagery and copy—as curated by our team of designers—tailored to your industry, website goals, and brand personality for an even more unique and professional web presence.
Just share your website name, what your website is about, and a preferred personality to start creating a bespoke website starting point for your next idea.
Squarespace Design Intelligence
Squarespace Blueprint AI is part of Design Intelligence, a set of features that combine Squarespace’s industry-leading design experience with emerging technology to bring your creative vision to life. We believe that great design is human, so our tools are designed to amplify your creative ideas and what makes you stand out.
In addition to Squarespace Blueprint AI, new Design Intelligence releases announced at Refresh include:
Site Themes: Experiment with fonts, colors, and style options with a curated menu based on the personality of your website, then apply across your pages with a click.
Layout Switcher: Try different recommendations for your page layouts, customized to what you’ve included in each page section. Find one you love and easily apply it right away.
New AI descriptions: You can now generate copy drafts for SEO, video, and course descriptions across your website—as well as client documents you share externally.
Brand Identity: Create a centrally hosted, personalized voice so content you generate with Design Intelligence is automatically tailored to your audience and brand.
Style Previews for templates: Start with a website template, but pre-customize the look by previewing and choosing from recommended color palettes before you jump into the website editor.
2. Client invoicing updates
Entrepreneurs who offer professional services, like coaches, therapists, consultants, and freelance creatives, are some of the most successful business owners on Squarespace. Squarespace has launched a new set of client and project management tools to help those businesses run more smoothly.
Proposals, estimates, and contracts: Create proposals, project estimates, and client contracts to share your project plans and pricing or make the details official. Each document can reflect styles from your website to keep them on brand.
ACH as a payment method: Accept ACH (Automatic Clearing House) Direct Debit payments from any U.S. bank account as another trusted method for settling up.
Scheduled Send: Soon, you'll be able to schedule the send date and time of an invoice to work best for your own schedule or that of your client.
Since launching at last year's Refresh, Invoicing has helped thousands to customize, send, track, and accept payments for client invoices from their Squarespace account or the Squarespace app.
3. Squarespace Payments
Earlier this year, Squarespace introduced an all-new native payment solution, Squarespace Payments. Squarespace Payments helps you keep your payment tracking and payouts centralized in your Squarespace account for easy management.
Squarespace Payments also gives you exclusive access to some of the most popular alternative payment methods, like Apple Pay and Klarna.
You can now connect to Squarespace Payments in the U.S., U.K., and Canada—and coming soon, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, and Ireland.
4. More ways to earn
Some of the most successful businesses on Squarespace have more than one revenue stream. There are new ways to start earning or scale your income, no matter what fits your brand and time commitments.
Sell subscription products. Create recurring income by offering a subscription to popular products or services in your store.
Paywall your content on any plan. Now you can paywall blogs and videos on any website plan, so you can earn from the content that your audience loves.
Collect donations or launch crowdfunding campaigns. Raise money for anything—your nonprofit, a local cause, an upcoming event, or a new project—with the help of your community.
5. Tools to help you grow
Growing an audience or customer base is one of the biggest challenges for brands and businesses. Two key business products, Email Campaigns and Squarespace Domains, can help you grow your audience and legitimize your brand. You’ll soon have access to exciting improvements to these tools:
Marketing Automation Builder: Emails are an important opportunity to build loyalty with your audience, clients, or customers. You’ll soon be able to set up your own workflows with automated triggers for when marketing emails go out and to whom, so you always catch people with the right message at the right time.
Squarespace Domains improvements: A website domain—the unique part of the URL you use to reach a website—makes your site easy to reach and legitimizes it with your name or branding. Now you can buy your domain for multiple years and manage it from a single dashboard in Squarespace.
