As the saying goes, one person’s trash is another person’s treasure. In our recent campaign featuring Oscar the Grouch, we highlighted how transformational this idea can really be. In the video, Sesame Street’s resident grouch discovers that his comforting collection of garbage looks like high art to his neighbors—and he becomes a renowned creative genius overnight.
To honor the life-changing impact of looking at an object from a different point of view, we recently partnered with our friends at Sesame Workshop to host an art workshop for children from local nonprofit community agency Hudson Guild. The students created their own works of art using recycled objects, and heard a few inspirational words from Oscar himself as well as from Rosemarie Truglio, Ph.D., Sesame Workshop’s SVP of Curriculum and Content.
As a company that strives to help people with creative ideas succeed, we’re proud to support the efforts of Sesame Workshop and the Hudson Guild as they encourage young people to explore their imaginations, practice self-expression, and realize their own artistic vision to share with the world.
