A consistent marketing cadence is an important part of maintaining a successful business and growing your brand. But busy entrepreneurs don’t always have time to commission or create a steady stream of marketing content on top of their other responsibilities.
The Squarespace iOS app can streamline the process of creating marketing content for business owners and creators. It’ll quickly pull colors, similar fonts, and products from your site, then generate branded images, GIFs, and videos that you can use in Squarespace Email Campaigns or across social media.
Learn how to get started with marketing content so that you can easily fill your content calendar and focus your attention on growing your business.
Step 1: Download the Squarespace app
If you haven’t already, download the Squarespace iOS app. For the app to create marketing content for your business, you’ll need to have at least one product listed for sale in your online store.
The more products you stock in your store inventory, the more variety you’ll have in the marketing content the app creates for you. For example, you’ll have the option to generate a full set of promotional assets for one specific product, or generate assets that showcase multiple products and your brand more broadly.
Step 2: Find marketing content in the Commerce tab
Open the iOS app and navigate to the Commerce tab. Once there, tap the “Promote” button in the upper right hand corner of your screen.
The Squarespace app will take a moment to analyze your brand—its color palette and products—then generate professionally designed marketing assets based on that data. The assets are optimized for and organized by marketing channel (e.g., social media, email, etc). That way, you’ll quickly have access to marketing content that will help you reach your customers anywhere.
Content categories in the app are split into:
Stories, Reels, & TikTok: Short video clips and still images
Email Campaigns: Still images and GIFs for email marketing
Video ads & YouTube: Longer video clips
Social posts: Still images and GIFs
At this stage, you have the option to tailor your content to your business needs. Choose whether you want marketing content for all of your products, or if you want to focus on just one. This option can be a time-saver if you’re releasing a new product or product line—simply select your product and get polished assets for your launch in moments.
Step 3: Customize your content
You get the final say in individual content designs with the app’s editing tools. If you’re not completely happy with a particular design, you have a few options:
Quickly update an asset: Tap the “Shuffle Style” button while viewing an asset to try a different layout and design using the same product.
Personally customize an asset: Tap the “Edit” icon while viewing an asset to change the font, text, colors, or product image used in a design.
Update all of your assets at once: Select “Your Brand” in the upper right hand corner of the app to choose different fonts or colors for your assets. Tap “Done” and the app will create refreshed assets based on your choices.
Once you’re happy with your content, there are a few easy ways to save your assets. You can save directly to your phone’s camera roll or to your computer. You can also save to your Squarespace asset library. That option gives you easy access to your marketing content, so you can quickly drop images into emails or your website.
Step 4: Share with your audience
Every marketing content asset is designed for the platform where you’ll post it. For example, images in the social posts category are available in vertical, horizontal, and square crops. This way, you can tailor your content to each platform, and you never have to worry about low-quality or cut-off images and videos.
To post your new content on social media, just save your marketing designs to your camera roll or desktop, and upload to each platform you use. Make sure to add any additional details or calls to action you’d like to share with your followers.
Use Squarespace’s social selling options to make it even easier for your audience to make a purchase. Sync your store to your social profile and sell to customers directly on the social platform.
You can also drop your marketing assets into your asset library, and use images and GIFs to amplify your customer emails. A visually interesting email campaign can drive engagement and attract customers to your site.
No matter what you’re selling, the Squarespace iOS app can help you create beautiful content to fill your marketing calendar, so you have more time for everything else your business needs. Download the app to get started.
