We're excited to kick off a new series, #2020Vision—asking customers from the worlds of entertainment, food, music, activism, and literature for predictions about the future of their fields, in addition to insight into how they're going to make next year the best one yet.
Cheryl Hole made waves on the international drag scene this year—and is looking to keep up her momentum in the new year.
Squarespace: After appearing on the first season of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, how has life changed?
Cheryl Hole: It's been a crazy rollercoaster ride since the announcement. I've been so blessed to have so many opportunities in such a short amount of time and to be able to showcase my craft with the world. My life outside of drag is still very much the same, but now people are starting to recognise me down the high street!
SQSP: Do you have any predictions for what we’ll see in the world of drag in the years to come?
CH: I predict drag will take over the world, more so than it already is. The world is still being introduced to drag and it's not going anywhere in a hurry.
SQSP: Unsurprisingly, you maintain a fabulous digital presence. How important has it been for you to build this up and maintain it?
CH: My entire life I have been raised around technology and been around social media from a young age. social media is a great outlet to put your craft out to the world and to reach people of all ages and identities that wouldn't necessarily be able to reach you physically. I love having that connection with the people that want to reach me but I'm also very good and being able to put my phone down and live in the moment.
SQSP: Where do you see yourself next year?
CH: Next year my one goal is to work as hard as possible and to perform the best I can and meet as many people as possible that have made this year so incredible. I wouldn’t have these opportunities if it wasn't for RuPaul’s Drag Race but more so the fans, so for that I am forever in debt to them.
